Science Advocacy Hub

In recent years, people across Canada have observed, in near real-time, the vital difference that science and research can make in addressing the challenges that define our future. Today, the need for robust and informed decision-making, rooted in scientific insights, has never been more important — especially amid the growing complexities of climate change, and the intricate web of issues surrounding food insecurity, social disparities, looming pandemics, and more.

However, it isn’t easy to place scientific evidence at the heart of decision-making. Navigating the intersection of science and policy involves maintaining a careful balance between competing interests and ideologies. This can sometimes overshadow the importance of evidence in decision-making.
